Spearmint Essential Oil
Our super Spearmint (Mentha spicata) has a minty, sweet, slightly fruity scent, softer than peppermint and more rounded. A rich antioxidant, spearmint is said to support the respiratory and nervous systems and may help open and release emotional blocks leading to a sense of balance and well-being.
There are many who believe that peppermint oil is just too strong and use spearmint oil instead. Mixing the two is another popular option. No matter your sensitivity, Spearmint essential oil is gentler than peppermint oil, especially for children. Although the oils possess similar properties, spearmint contains lower amounts of menthol compared to peppermint oil.
We prefer it for example in Summer Cooling Blends. The health benefits of Spearmint Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, cephalic, emenagogue, insecticide, restorative and stimulant substance.
TOP TIP : Craving Curber Diffuser Blend: 3 drops Grapefruit, 3 drops Lemon, 1 drop Spearmint and 1 drop Ylang Ylang essential oils and VAPOURISE!
