Peppermint organic Essential Oil
Our SOIL ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED Organic Peppermint is one of our most popular oils and it is hardly surprising. We find Organic oil producers put their heart and soul into their oils and this is often reflected in the overall quality.
This wonderful example is from a leading American producer and is quite simply stunning. We opted for the more pungent Piperita variety rather than the slightly softer (and sweeter Arvensis) But make no mistake, all three of our peppermint oils are great examples with the Amber glass range (arvensis) offering outstanding value for money and our Select range a truly outstanding Washington State Piperita.
However, this Organic would be our favourite due to its combination of intense scent and reasonable price. Our pale yellow Peppermint Oil is steam distilled with a sweet rich, top note smell. We consider it a must for the home medicine cabinet.
Said to be great for cooling and clearing of the nasal passages and a fabulous ingredient for foot scrubs and creams. It is a native of the Mediterranean, but is now also cultivated in Italy, USA, Japan and Great Britain. It is a perennial herb that grows up 3 feet high and has slightly hairy serrated leaves with pinkish-mauve flowers arranged in a long conical shape.
